Anthropologist from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (1964), she holds a PhD cum laude in History and Geography from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1976). Scientific collaborator of the Smithsonian Institution. And the first woman to obtain the National Culture Award, mention in Humanities (2008).

Systematic archeological research on the central and western Travesías region in Argentina are in permanent development. Although earth ovens or botijos are continuously identified in the archeological record in these territories, specific studies on these elements are still scarce.
