This paper examines the funerary contexts in Lake Cuitzeo, northern Michoacán, with special emphasis on documented sites such as "La Nopalera", Tres Cerritos, Barranquilla Grande, Copándaro de Galeana and La Mina, whose periods of occupation range from the Late Classic (550 - 700 AD) to the Late Postclassic (1200 - 1521 AD).
