PhD. in Anthropology from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (1966), and a degree in Ethnology from the Sorbonne University, Paris (1961). Scientific collaborator of the Smithsonian Institution (1967), he has been a postgraduate professor in several universities in Venezuela.
