The International Journal of South American Archaeology - IJSA (eISSN 2011-0626), (eISP 0840.2912.4861) publishes original articles (Peer Review Process) on the archaeology and prehispanic history of South America, including topics such as environmental archaeology, sociocultural archaeology, prehispanic art, sociocultural diversity, bioarchaeology, contemporary peoples and their archaeological remains. Papers may also address general theoretical and methodological issues relevant to archaeology, especially in South America.

The International Journal of South American Archaeology - IJSA is published between January - December the 2021 in Continuos Publication Model. It´s an academic journal published by Syllaba Press International Inc., Suite 722 - 4586, 1900 N. W. 97th Avenue, Doral, Florida 33172, USA.

Accepted for publication Original Research Articles, Research Progress Articles, Field Reports, Articles Reviews, Books Reviews and Obituaries. Contributions can be sent in Spanish, Portuguese or English Languages.

Manuscripts and figures, tables, references and notes, as well as an abstract in Spanish, Portuguese or English Languages should be submitted to the editor using directly the ePublishers Content™ - Academic Editorial Assistant. Text format should be Microsoft Word. Position of tables and figures should be identified. Figure format should be JPEG or PNG. Manuscripts that do not fulfill the requirements will be returned to the author for correction (see Manuscript Preparation in the Guide for Authors Section for more info).

Open Access Policy

The International Journal of South American Archaeology - IJSA provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. There is no embargo on the journal’s publications. Submission and acceptance dates, along with publication dates, are made available on the PDF format for each paper.

Authors of articles published in International Journal of South American Archaeology - IJSA remain the copyright holders and grant third parties the right to use, reproduce, and share the article according to the license agreement.

Archiving Policy

The journal’s publisher, Syllaba Press International Inc., focuses on making content discoverable and accessible through indexing services. Content is also archived around the world to ensure long-term availability.

To ensure permanency of all publications, this journal also utilises CLOCKSS, and LOCKSS archiving systems to create permanent archives for the purposes of preservation and restoration.

The journal only displays advertisements that are of relevance to its scope and will be of interest to the readership (e.g. upcoming conferences). Adverts will include a text heading to make it clear that they are adverts not related to the journal.

Annotation and post-publication comment

The journal platform permits readers to leave comments on the publication page, via the Disqus service. Readers will need a Disqus account to leave comments. Comments may be moderated by the journal, however, if they are non-offensive and relevant to the publication subject, comments will remain online without edit.

The journal platform also includes in-browser annotation and text highlighting options on full text formats via hypothes.is. Readers will require a hypothes.is account to create annotations, and will have the option to make these publicly available, available to a group, or private.
